Stonehenge

Stonehenge

It is believed that the construction of Stonehenge happened in three phases and that these phases required more than thirty million hours of work. Allegedly, Phase I occurred ca. 3100 BC, Phase II took place ca. 3000 BC, and Phase III developed from ca. 2600 BC to ca. 1930 BC.

The reasons why it was built are still unknown. Archaeologists speculate they range from human sacrifice to astronomy.

Stonehenge is located in the county of Wiltshire, England.
