Printing Press

The printing press with movable type was invented by Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz, Germany, around 1440. The first major book printed with a printing press was the Gutenberg Bible.

Gutenberg’s invention was responsible for the popularisation of books and by the end of the 19th century it turned feasible the publishing press.
